Ritualz: Ghetto Ass Witch

WOW! So the new †‡† EP dropped today and its called Ghetto Ass Witch! He seems to have dropped the complex spelling and moved to the phonetic spelling of Ritualz for EP number two and wow is this a good EP, I've been going through it today a lot and it kills, this is next gen †‡†. Hip-Hop Trance Witch House, that is just total 2011. This is not only the genres future its pops future too, Ritualz should be all over producing the 3rd Gaga album, hey Ritualz should be producing the next Rihanna album this is just too good for the world to miss. Just listen to it! So layered and rich and bouncy, dark as hell at points but tracks like Baba Vanga are just so groove filled and evil in the most dirty sounding way! Its got percussion on it too not just grinding trance synths and pre-set handclaps. Then tracks like Big Magick Hustlas take thigns another way entirely and shit all over Salems album.. objectively (if I can be!) this is a better album, I say album 'cos its eight tracks long that's only two under King Night's length. I need to have a club night up and running again to play these tracks out! Tracks like "Third Eye Sixth Sense" with its percussive droning start chanted and buzzing which rises to a fuzzed out beat and layered cacophonous noise until a minute and a half in where it drops all that out and the sound bounces forth clear and dancey, with an electro groove of epic proportions then blam the distorted synths come back in and everything rolls on like a castle collapsing down the side of a mountain. Oh and then you have the amazing final track "Star Magick" that is pure Black Metal via the medium of Witch House style Gabba..! No really, fucking listen to that track and weep tears of dust!

This is an awesome EP that rivals anything out there within the Witch House genre and nicely lifts up and out of it to easily rival bands like Salem, Crystal Castles and the like. Go buy the EP now!

Mater Suspiria Vision have embarked on 2011 with a new vigour producing new tracks like this latest one - MANIA (Demo 2011)

There's a subtle new feel to the tracks with more dirging synth and less of the thousand yard echo and repeat that clouds things into a hypnogogic fog. This is a more defined or refined sound as you would expect after 2010 saw them produce literally days worth of tracks and footage.

MANIA almost bounces along at points, awash with buzzes, wails, and deep repeating synth notes that caress the cerebellum like driller killer.

This dude Alonzo Wang aka"The Nothing" makes Witch House and Drag music, or at least he does now, even the most cursory glance at his Soundcloud page will show you how much other stuff he makes as well. This is a real musical Jack Of All Trades taking a tentative step into a sound of now.. And its all right, kinda obvious beats but with a nice slightly chillwave/glitchy take on things, but with that Creep, Salem synth drone you probably overly recognise and the usual pre set percussion. Good first try though. There's nothing to download for free though.

Kynan covers Prince's Purple Rain and totally owns it, turning it into some kind of blissed out chillwave pop thing, slowed down and just gorgeous. So good, better than the original. Killer.

Blissed Out released their debut full length, 3MPIR3 §†Å†3 digitally on the first of this month, with a limited vinyl pressing of 500 LPs coming next week. There is also a video for the song //Myrtle//Wyckoff// off of 3MPIR3. The video was directed by Sterling Crispin, the director of such noted videos as Pictureplane's Goth Star. Okay bands seriously now just delete your Myspace accounts and set up Facebook accounts, Soundcloud and Bandcamp pages, maybe a site if you can be bothered but there's no need those three are good enough.

The only good thing about Myspace now is it taps in at the top in the Google searches.. but whats the point of people visiting your page, its hard to link out from it, all the pictures are now tiny and shit, you cant customise things like you used to and everyone just switches off if they have to look at a Myspace page now anyway, you are almost driving fans away from your band by having one! As soon as you fully delete your account your bands Facebook/Soundcloud/Bandcamp page will appear at the top of any search engines list and people can find you like that.

Do it now, I'm starting to not blog bands that use Myspace as their main internet location.. you just seem like you're not serious.

Its atmospheric post rock ambience and occultism, darkly gothic candle lit stuff, beautiful and spacey and interestingly guitar led and so slow and empty that it almost feels like the band are dissipating as you listen.
