The rest of the world is fast becoming aware of the great music Mexico is producing, god I love the internet, well done to Sir Tim Berners-Lee for inventing it in 1989.

You'll Sleep When I'm Dead is a brilliant lo-fi very catchy garage pop EP by The Cloud I'm Under that just sounds great, it has: melancholy and trudging beats, lamenting guitar, reverberating tin can vocals like a Berlin Bowie or Julian Casablancas having a really bad day,tales of heartache love and all sorts of wow. Perth witch House night!

Love it when people love the blog.
There's this night in Perth, Australia called RØSE that's been going for a few months that is all like Witch House with syrupy lighting and lots of smoke machines, live bands etc. Sounds well worth going to if you live in Perth. (Perth is officially the most isolated city in the world) Anyway this thursday they have a night going on which is a screening of Cosmotropia De Xams new film Fantasia, they also have live performance’s from two local artists that fit under the shady umbrella term that is Witch House; NAGY and OUROBONIC PLAGUE as well as a slew of Dj's playing; DJ OUROBONIC PLAGUE, T.DØØM₣ERRIER, R▲Z D▲N, ODDSTAR SHAMBLES. Depeche Mode made a great song back in the day and then got it remixed recently and surprisingly it hasn't been ruined at all. Anyway this video is kind of boring for the first minute and a half but then there are some awesome shots in it (the girl being dropped off the bridge etc) but then about two and a half minutes in the whole thing totally switches up and is just killer and totally redeems itself. Must see video.

Weirdly I also wrote a treatment for this track but we never got it, it didnt have the wow effect that happens two and a half minutes into this video but it sure was better overall.

Ghibli - Pythia (2 exclusive downloads)

Thomas Michael formerly operated as Jaded Hipster Choir but now has transformed into Ghibli, a "kinetic pulse pop prince with an insatiable palate for classical vibrations and vinyl induced friction." Jaded Hipster Choir were a Canadian three piece that make a weird mix of chillwave, that moves from raps to robot voices, the sound of waves on foreign shores, Beach House style vocal takes, breaking drums, 8-bit bubblings and crickets under starry skys with warm analogue synths!
Ghibli moves in similar avenues but with a more dancey pace, its beautiful sample led ambient dance music that makes a rainy day in spring seem like the perfect time to go out and play.
Ghibli has a forthcoming record available from the 28th June; called Pythia, it is supposedly a "modern ode to the Oracle of Delphi and the gaseous omissions from a crack in the mountain where her temple to Apollo was situated." (I think I saw that documentary as well!)

Old Folks' Home is the second album by Porn On Vinyl a project by Aidan Wall of Hipster Youth. This 11 track album was written and recorded over a two year period between August 2008 and October 2010. He started it when he was 17 and was finally happy with it aged 19. Its a lo-fi dreamy guitar driven thing with quiet unassuming songs that you could almost call Anti-Folk, tracks that grind out roughly on strummed Spanish guitar over samples and harmonies, delicious songs that work so damn well. Salem: Till The World Ends video remix

Such a poor remix it makes me think its not Salem and actually just another faker like there was a month or so ago, like this is just your average drag remix you could find a hundred times over on Soundcloud.. And the video is just blah, like the night vision strippers and war idea is a good one but it isnt really edited well or with any kind of thought behind it, yes there are some repeats with bombs on beats and that kinda thing but all in all, the "remix" and video could have taken about an hour to make, that's with rendering time on the video.. I all looks like a bit of a money maker or trend stalker, nothing wrong with that but hey just put a bit more effort in yeah? Or have Salem bounced back onto the crack and need some dollars super quick..
Selling your soul to Satan is sometimes cool kids but than its sometimes selling it to Sony!
