Pyr▲mids of ▲▲ - the next three albums, all free to download.

Pyr▲mids of ▲▲ is one of my favorite artists of recent years but I keep forgetting to blog his latest releases. The first three EPs called tri▲ngulum, pyr▲mids and sp▲cedout   which I blogged and downloaded and played to death, but i've forgotten to download the latest 3 releases, summer trinity, atelier reverb and pattern//recognition. These are three great EPs and they are all free to download from Last.fm! Download them here, here and here.

Pyr▲mids of ▲▲ is an artist who plays lo-fi, reverb-drenched ambient/shoegaze swarming with heavy samples, ethereal atmospheres and dreamy impressionistic soundscapes. Its throbbing spacey stuff that is just brilliant. These three new EPs are all a bit more complex and structured but are essentially following the same ambient synth worlds. A few tracks are up on Soundcloud so you can listen to them below.

Halls - Solace.

This is special, Halls is a South London based musician who makes some of the most beautiful and glacial ambient tracks out there, slow low post-post-dubstep that washes over you like ice creeping across the face of snowball earth. As if in the faint far crystal distance some one is playing Neon Indian or Blackbird Blackbird on a battered radio and the mountains in between are bouncing and dragging, echoing and washing the sound with sonic bleach. Strange half caught vocal rumours, snowdrift rumbles and late night headphone walks, mournful echoes of long lost songs caught in the up draft from towns far below and swept into the stratosphere to be played with by the only things floating up there with them; tiny silvery spiders. BEAUTIFUL. Go buy the self titled EP for £1 here. And the single Solace for £2 here. Worth every penny.

Pyr▲mids of ▲▲ has a ▲ fetish.

Pyr▲mids of ▲▲ is an artist from Cananda who make music with a really nice orchestral sound, a bit like Sigur Rós doing a kind of ambient Witch beat shoe gaze. But with a name like that and song titles such as The Pyramids of Mulholland Drive, Witches and Bitches and The Pyramids of Titan its also got a bit of tongue in cheek irreverence about it.
I don't know whether I actually find these titles a bit annoying or not, because as I listen to Pyr▲mids of ▲▲ more I'm finding it sounds really good, why ruin it slightly with throw away names?

Anyway beyond having a triangle fetish Pyr▲mids of ▲▲ really does make great droning ambient atmospheres that drip with texture and interest. You can get all three of the EPs for free from Last.fm from the following links:

The first demo called Tri▲ngulum which features 10 tracks.

The first EP called Pyr▲mids which has 4 tracks on it.

And finally the most recent EP called simply Sp▲cedout which is also 4 tracks long.
