Crim3s still goin

Now I really loved the new Crim3s  Stay Ugly EP but they've just gone and put out a new track and it is by far my favourite song they have ever made... and I'm not even at the end of listening to it as I type. This is THE Crim3s track. Ripped with heartache and blistering beats, menacing time signatures and adhd synth trills, Sadies vocals switching between her throat tearing scream and a new grungy anthemic gospel sound, a classic rave anthem format updated for 2013. Oh and the song is called "Still Goin" which has loads of great angsty implications.

Download for free or "pay what you want" from their Bandcamp.

Crim3s - Stay Ugly EP

The new Crim3s EP has dropped!! A blurred out, blistering slow grinding rumble through fogs of screams and overdriven distortion, crunching beats all full throttle and in the red, a tsunami of increasing noise and slow rage. No low slow chill here, this is raging black outs of crunching rave noise.

The first two tracks "lost" and "pansy" are like noise versions of James Blake is the point was to deafen rather than softly seduce. Track three "Dose" is a tempo changing raving riff driven upbeat ranter and the EP's title track Stay Ugly is by far the best of the lot, the single if there was to be one, but still it's an "all in the red" distorted noisy blast of raw feeling. Killer. The final track "stress" is an insistent jittery, upbeat, air punching hard as ever killer to end the EP and it doesn't disappoint although it may give you palpatations.

You can download the EP for £5 or buy the vinyl 7" for a mere £7.99, all from their Bandcamp. 10 out of 10.

Peers - Night Driving

Peers are a great guitar band already getting hit up by the NME for their ace demo single Night Driving, a rip roaring anthemic roar of mournful exaltation.  Download it while you can from their Soundcloud here.

Entertainment

Entertainment are a great new band from London with an insanely catchy guitar led sound that hauls up thoughts of all types of influences from late era Brit Pop bands, all the way to the more melodic moments from post rock giants ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead and back again. Check out this new track Moving In The Right Way produced by the sonically uber gifted Rory Attwell. You can download this track for free from their Soundcloud.

Fake Drugs

Two great tracks by a band called Fake Drugs, the two tracks are called Past Empires and Tombs of Luxury. The first could easily have been dropped from the last Klaxons album for being too good , while the second one is a mix of The Knife and Blur abttling for control of a one key synth. Ace! Download both tracks for free from the Soundcloud now.

Prince James Ferraro

Nice couple of little tracks from James Ferraro "SO N2U" is the 1st single off new album "Sushi" out in November on Hippos In Tanks but I'm not sure if the squelchy, Spice Girls sampling "Rainstick Fizz Plus" also features on that upcoming release. But it's a killer dirty funk grind of a track so it way should.

LKBK by Porteur

Beautiful beautiful beautiful.. dreamy washed out seasons of noise and wonder washing over you with airs of guitars and vocals half tattered in the wind. Echoing snippets caught in nostalgias warm grip peeling to your ears from some distance, you think of M83, of chillwavers, of teenage sad guitars and bedroom moods, lost in a fog of reverb and jewel like glittering magic. This album is the tits. Go get it, it's called LKBK, its by Porteur and its out on Holy Page records. Genius.

New Crim3s promo.

Brilliant new video from Crim3smo, just a brief VHS stuttering raw live thing from a bedroom somewhere. It's awesome. All promo's should be like this. Also its great to see something new from Crim3s, I was worrying they had stopped making/recording things!

Honeyblood

Honeyblood, to girls who play songs about stuff, all lo-fi and grungey in a Scottish post punk style and I bloody love it. With crunched guitars and vocals far off in a large hall somewhere, the live and shody style recordings are just brilliant. Taking the White Stripes set up of guitar and drums this band kick ass in a melancholy way.

There's nothing to download as of yet and there cassette release is sold out but go like them on Facebook here and check out their Tumblr for loads of live videos and stuff.

Papercutz - Where Beasts Die

Tuesday morning is different from Monday, less water rave and more beautiful epic ghost folk. :Papercutz are from Portugal and makes some of the most "stop and stare in amazement" style music around. The track Where Beasts Die is the second single from their album "The Blur Between Us" out July 10. It's just amazing. Rivers was the first single.. it too is a gigantic masterpiece. Words like "haunted" "spectral" and "dark" are silly words that in no way convey the greatness of this band. Total winner.

LE1F!!

Shit but LE1F is amazing and there are loads of free downloads on his Soundcloud - no way enough people know about this dude! Minimal feeling rap with a sweaty nightclub feel, super cool but lost amongst the ether, everyone get on this, where's the Super Super LE1F front cover etc. Blam! This is too good.

Ana Caprix

UK post-trance ambient ambien moods from Ana Caprix, someone making 2013 music. This is URL genre post meme magic, slow House tracks, pastel goth RnB with smooth helium vocals and 3D orbs. Low slow chilled energy. Blinding. I'm not sure what else to say other than this is brilliant and you should so go and download the free tracks from the Soundcloud page. Genius.

Piča z hoven.

You can call this Witch House if you want but that seems to be pigeon-holing it and restricted its awesomeness way too much, this is Doom synth with awesome lyrics and proper dance beats, Goth atmospherics to kill for and slow-low grime and gas fuzz to light dancing energy beams of rave melody, Salem via CC doing future-step. Awesome!

The artist in question is the gratuitously named Czech band Piča z hoven. They have an album out called Doom na kraji lesa. Go buy it from Bandcamp now if you know what's good for you.
