Raindeer

Raindeer extol that sort of indie that MGMT nailed down and was started by The Flaming Lips, that Arcade Fire and Yeasayer explored all imagined by Fleetwood Mac way back when. It's a sound that lilts beautiful promises across the morning dew soaked air, telling tales of lives un-fuddled by money worries, age or reality, a dreamlike adventure in primal emotion and wonder, astral projections of musical exuberance somehow filtering through to reality. And they have an album you can download for free!

Noir Cœur

Noir Cœur are a French duo making next level chillwave dream pop sounds, its beautiful and uplifting, nostalgic and nature focused, lit by starlight and glow worms, adventures in memories, tropical paganism, the tribulations of youth, electronic and solid as fuck.
Their Jahnimal EP is a full on five track killer. If you are a fan of MGMT, M83 or Neon Indian then go download it for "name your price" at their Bandcamp now!

Tropic Of Pisces

Tropical pop along similar lines MGMT or Of Montreal, Tropic Of Pisces is the new project from the guitarist/glockenspieler of Oberhofer, Mathew Scheiner. Smooth synth funk and chillwave style moods, slick and classic feeling. It's good but could also so easily slip into pure yawning cheese ...and yet it doesn't which is good!

Therapies Son: Over The Sea.

Therapies Son remind me of The Flaming Lips but through some MGMT/Chillwave prism with a giant Beach Boys/Beatles style backing orchestra that swamps everything then gets played back through a dodgy cassette player, this is great stuff from an LA band that I think is just one person.
Download his Over the Sea album from Bandcamp now. Plus check out the awesome cover art (on the left).

Guards will be your new favourite band.

SHIT listen to this!! Like Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros collaborating with MGMT to do Arcade Fire covers!! So good!! The band are Guards and this is their Bandcamp page here. There doesn't seem to be a Facebook or anything else for them but their Twitter is here.
They've done some good covers (like of MIA's Born Free) which have been getting them noticed a bit but hell they deserve total full blown coverage. Their Bandcamp has a free download of their EP also called Guards. Get it or regret it! These guys are like MGMT when you first heard Kids or Time To Pretend but without the perfect photoshoot on a beach at dusk to get them going global
The song below is new it seems! Love these dudes!! Guards - Swimming After Dark by 1FTP

Doom and Gloom are actually pretty happy.

Despite the picture Doom and Gloom are not a spaced out chillwave dream pop band, rather this boy/girl duo create a jerky pop based repertoire of songs that have a sonic history in Of Montreal and Arial Pink.

Great song structures, harmonies, backing vocals layered over keyboard ditties and an emotional grandiose sprawl of sound.

Their demos are all available from their Bandcamp page and have that "not quite finished" demo quality but are still amazing.. expect bigger things and enjoy what you have here for free!
