Pale Noir closes

Pale Noir the brilliant DIY label, one of the first to emerge from the whole Witch House scene is closing! This was their message of parting:

"Pale Noir is taking a very long break. We may or may not be back next year. Thanks for all your support and please know the DIY bizz is no easy one. It is a lot of hard work. Blood. Sweat. Tears. Passion. There is never a financial gain. It is very much a starving artist market.
Please know the DIY labels do not make any profit. They spend their own hard earned money from their real jobs and sometimes will starve to help an artist out. This is real love and passion.
For anyone who has ever bitched about Black Bvs Records Tundra Aural Sects Clan Destine Records Phantasma Disques Baku Shad-do and all the other DIY labels you need to try doing this yourself. All these ppl could be putting all their hard earned money into themselves but they give so many of you a chance because they truly care about you as an artist. Please support these labels. Without the support more and more of us will dwindle away.
Love to you all and THANK you from the bottom of my heart for finding an interest in PN and giving us a try. I found the most amazing group of artist with such sweet hearts. I love you all and I will always be your biggest fan. ♥ ♥"

  2. I dunno if you noticed the quotation marks but the blurb above was a direct quote from Pale Noir records.. so this isnt this bloggers opinion, ...and yeah "desire, disaro, black lodge music, sweating tapes, living tapes" are all awesome, as are; Sewage Tapes, Chill Mega Chill records, Dopefish, Lava Church, Twice Removed, sensory projects, Steak Au Zoo, White Iris, XVIII, Rave Yard, Acephale, Young Latitudes, Beatabet, Crash Symbols, Beer On the Rug, Radical Ritual, Holy Page, Amdiscs, Subwise and all the other DIY experimental record labels out there.. and sometimes as with everything each one wont be perfect in their actions but that doesnt mean they and the artists on them arent really great! :)

  4. OUCH. "Aural Sects... suck balls." That was pretty painful to hear.

Pale Noir have been a huge inspiration to us from the start. We've even worked on a compilation together a few months ago, and it's always been a joy to work with them, as well as to hear their output. They'll be sorely missed.

    1. Gypsy tried hard and she went out (for the year) with a bang. Her label was and hopefully is a bastion of quality in our little scene. If all the haters and complainers in the scene put in the effort that her label did or any of the others she mentioned do the scene would be a far better place. Less bitching and shit-talking and more hard work.

  6. This behavior in these replies is exactly what is wrong with everything right now and a good part of why Pale Noir is taking a breather. If we all can't come together and respect one another with full support for one another things will continue to crumble.
If you are responsible for adding any negativity then you should look in the mirror and realize you are a huge cause to the destruction of something that could be beautiful. And perhaps it is time for a little self examination as to why you are trying to be part of this music scene. Because it probably is not for the right reasons.
