Ellie Herring - Mend The Angle - EP

Ellie Herring has a new EP out called Mend The Angle.. it very good, so very very good. I spent this morning listening to that Will.i.am and Britney single a bit too much and then went over to listen to this EP and the production is just seamless, so well done and so ahead of some imagined curve, brilliant. Slow rave hip hop with a real pop dance vibe. Track two is especially ace. Th EP is all available to download for free from the Soundcloud player below. Blam!

This is good, not heard of this guy before but its good. Window is a producer from Montreal and this EP "Strands" is a perfect blend on 90s rave, tumblr led meme dance all breakbeat, into Seapunk water falls and slow mood dance-offs, building rising and letting loose with epic goth RnB vibes and all that. Blam! Too good!

Assassin by The Electric Witch

Pounding the synth noir electro button for all its worth till the vocoder effect rips through your throat and shows its shiny metal face, to the world, The Electric Witch is a two man project from the guys who brought you Dirty Knobs, driving syth squelching and rippling bassline notes strobing through you senses like play dough through a colander. Cassida Pax

Another great lo-fi Dream Pop/Surf sounding guitar band, Cassida Pax. This EP "Sin By Proxy" is a minimal guitar, vocal and minmal percussion thing that sounds very much like it was recorded on 4 track tape in someone's cold damp basement flat in 1987. Beautiful, sad and understated. Despite its mournful "just broke up with my girlfriend and wondering the cemetery drinking cold tea" kind of feel its produced by someone living out in sunny as fuck California. Noir Cœur

Noir Cœur are a French duo making next level chillwave dream pop sounds, its beautiful and uplifting, nostalgic and nature focused, lit by starlight and glow worms, adventures in memories, tropical paganism, the tribulations of youth, electronic and solid as fuck.

Seedge - Saturates

Seedge is a 21-year-old producer from Montreal who make experimental electro-acoustic music along the lines of Warp's more chilled out prog artists there are shades of Boards Of Canada or Burial in there. He releases a lot of EPs, four this year so far. 

His latest the "Saturates" EP is a spacey chillwavian little number while earlier releases (like "Shorter Moods which was mashed together using an iphone or "The Killer Kisser Series, Part One" which is more glitchy and trip hop in feel) are more beat driven and experimental. He has 14 EPs up his Bandcamp go check some of them out!

Ritualz - Outworld Music 1

Ritualz graduated from Witch House sounds ages ago and now his own particular brand of new-age goth post-trance is really coming into its own. Outworld Music 1 is the first in what will be a series of EP releases and came out before the EP released on the Mishka label. "..these eps are meant to be different from other Ritualz releases, a way to explore new sounds being 90s trance, world and new age music the main influences behind these first 4 tracks." Download it now for $4 from Bandcamp. Well worth it.

Hypermotion X

Finally got round to listening to the new Ritualz EP hypermotion X out on the Mishka record label. It's a cyberpunk ambient post Witchian epic all sprawling soundtrack sounds and dirging noise. This could soundtrack Prometheus very well. Perhaps much like Daft Punk, Ritualz will go down the film route...

Troubled By Insects - Ariestocracy

Troubled By Insects - Ariestocracy, a four-part ambient/noise suite in honor of Nikk Spadaro's 26th birthday celebration. The work of Mr. Spadaro can be viewed here:  Originally intended to be a simple 4-minute loop with Hunger Games slashfic spoken over it, the work became its own entity, and now exists as this suite instead. Recorded in one take onto a Craig model 2106 reel-to-reel tape recorder using factory model external mic in the studio space of coattrack records HQ Portland, in April 2012. Krusht under the promise of summer

Krusht is an artist from Venice Beach making spacey Chillwave style electronica without the retro synths, it's shoegaze I suppose but with a computer, all warm, slow and blissed out. Check out his Back To The Forest EP which is available for download for $5 from Bandcamp.

If you don't feel like shelling out the $5 on that then Krusht also has this sweet ass mixtape out which is free Soundcloud download, Now I know summer is still a long way off but this sure gets you in the mood. 


Plus on Soundcloud you can also download all of Krusht's first eponymous-ally titled EP, which is more Chillwavey but with a bunch of glitchy digital feeling sounds and even some raps on it.

Monsterheart - S/T EP

Like some of modern Austrian Bat For Lashes, Monsterheart powers into place with a killer 6 track EP called S/T thats some incessant childlike magic land of darkness, lo-fi garage pop and feral wild girl feelings, like some kind of fairy tale character on speed doing 60s girl group produced by an 80s goth, ..that's Monsterheart. Signed to Seayou Entertainment her EP is available from Bandcamp for 4 euros. Get it. There's also a free download to get from Soundcloud.

Crim3s EP released!!

Its here! Finally the Crim3s EP is out! The first release by one of my favourite bands of 2011/2012. A sound blended from all the best parts of the sonic landscape at this moment without being Zeitgeist like, without making something throw away. This is qualiyu dance music that licks the corners off Witch House, snorts the chopped up VHS of Chillwave, gurns its way through "Post Trance" and gobbles up what's left of ambient post dubstep, all the while leaving a healthy layer of tropical 8bit and bass heavy drone everywhere. Diamond Black Hearted Boy free EP.

Alpha Couple: WHNZ:27:NJNYC

Alpha Couple have a new EP out and available to download for free. This band keep surprising and this EP is in equaly great release, get it here.
"WHNZ:27:NJNYC was recorded in New Jersey, New York and Toronto, Ontario between March and July 2011. It features field noise and samples recorded by Alpha Couple during their US tour, and samples from Toronto radio stations. Two tracks, 15 Americans (Rothko on the Other Side of the Room) and Jasper Johns, are remixes of songs that appear on Alpha Couple's previous release, Stalingrad. These remixes are a reaction to finding, during a time of deep disturbance, a Rothko painting hanging across the room from a Jasper Johns painting in the the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan. Many samples on WHNZ:27:NJNYC are taken from an answering machine tape found in a junk shop in Manhattan's Chinatown."

IVVVO: I Just Love You EP.

Trying hard to be next level and definitely laying in some good scaffolding for the project is IVVVO. I think this dude is from Portugal though I didnt look to closely, raining influences from the skies of modern sound, IVVO has distilled and diluted drag and Witch House, downtempo of all sorts and a bit dubstep-ish Hip Hop into some late evening rainy day introspection.

There is a Bandcamp with a nice little EP on it for free which you should go get, have a listen and decide what you will.
