Hypermotion X

Finally got round to listening to the new Ritualz EP hypermotion X out on the Mishka record label. It's a cyberpunk ambient post Witchian epic all sprawling soundtrack sounds and dirging noise. This could soundtrack Prometheus very well. Perhaps much like Daft Punk, Ritualz will go down the film route...

EUROPEAN WI†CHCRAFT ASSOCIATION

Haunted Cassette Tapes are a great little Witch House record label that I wrote about before Xmas on the Mishka Bloglin. They released a mixtape called THE EUROPEAN WI†CHCRAFT ASSOCIATION from a collective of people from Romania, Germany and Belgium. Some are visual artists, some are musicians and the mixtape features dragged eurohouse and trance but it was limited to only 15 copies and so is now all gone! Though you can listen to all of it here! Enjoy!

The 2010 Guide to Grave Wave!

Mishka have just done a huge special article on all the new wave of Goth that's taking over the musical underground. Its a huge "best of" covering over 100 new bands and artists that make up the whole Witch House, Ghetto Goth, Neo-Folk, Drag and Post Punk that's around! To sum up all these sounds they have dubbed it Grave Wave. The whole thing is awesome and to top it all they have released a three disc compilation of all these bands! Read it here!

//Tense// are just brilliant and I've been championing them on this blog for a while now. I've only just just got their 7" single Turn It Off (released by Mishka) and it kicks ass so I thought I'd share my glee at receiving it!

The glorious red vinyl and red print label looks great but the best visual part of this package is the cover art! What could beat a 70s style leather daddy with handle bar moustache and a raw steak for a face! As soon as I find out who the artworks by I'll update this blog post!

The A side "Turn It Off" is a classic industrial sounding electro funk track, a bassline driving things along with a furry and aggressive sexuality. Get down and sweat to this like it's always and forever 2am in an underground fetish club and the owners just locked the doors!

The B side is an inspired cover of Fleetwood Macs "The Chain" that grinds along slow and brooding, sounding like P.I.L on Valium until it breaks into a great slow building dark dance tune that seems to turn the lyrics "If you don't love me now you'll never love me again" into the nastiest threat ever!

Also.. my name crops up in the "thank you" list on the back cover! AWESOME! Thanks guys!!
