Another great lo-fi Dream Pop/Surf sounding guitar band, Cassida Pax. This EP "Sin By Proxy" is a minimal guitar, vocal and minmal percussion thing that sounds very much like it was recorded on 4 track tape in someone's cold damp basement flat in 1987. Beautiful, sad and understated. Despite its mournful "just broke up with my girlfriend and wondering the cemetery drinking cold tea" kind of feel its produced by someone living out in sunny as fuck California. Its a dark and gritty post punk, industrial, minimal wave, synth and beats thing all cold vocals echoing through concrete ruins, backed by spectral drum machines channelling techno priests and floating trumpets calling up the dead, forward looking and intense. Great stuff!

Slow minimal ambient techno shit for you today; so good, so clean, so sexy. Thug Entrancer released Tropics Mind Volume 1 and 2 about 3 months ago.. its awesome. Clear and pulsing its crisp ice beats and squelching synths conjure up an ice bound Chicago shifting in time between 1987 and 2033. Also.. what a name! Fuck you cant loose with something like that!
