Tesla Boy - The Universe Made Of Darkness

Tesla Boy is a Russian band with an album out called "The Universe Made Of Darkness"... and it kicks ass over SO much dross out there at the moment, it rides a crooning 80s, early  90s house vibe with synths a plenty and a uber dancy vibe, it has a collab with Azari &III on one track and its signature tune "1991" is now my ring tone because it is just the most happy upbeat 90s house tune ever! I don't usually blog about bands that don't have free downloads or aren't unsigned but I highly doubt many people have heard of these guys and you really should even if they do ride the wave close to cheese island now and then.. Vagina Vangi

Vagina Vangi were Russian a band that appeared around the same time as Witch House arose, they made some amazing tunes then disappeared off the radar a bit. Well if you want here are their two EPs from 2010 and 2011 - now up on Bandcamp. A mix of Witch House, Electro, Nu Metal and chart dubstep, very very epic sounding, and really good. They should be releasing a new record soon.

Chikiss - "Chikiss sings сбпч"

Chikiss - "Chikiss sings сбпч" a lo-fi casio pop single release from Russia on the Dopefish label. Rudimentary and very lo-fi but very very good. All the vocals are in Russian so I have no idea what the songs are about but its of no matter as they're so good. Download it for "name your price" here.

Navel Felt - Salt

More mournful glacial post pop from The Dopefish Family record label this time the artist is called Navel Felt, their three track EP called Salt was released in May of this year and it is beautiful and sad and orchestral and grimy with dirging synth riffs and echoing drum machines. Cold war post punk synth madness and atmospherics, mournful pop songs and dystopian grimness all speeding along to 8-bit melodies and relentless drum machine patterns. zimní son by milky toad + chikiss

Zimní Son is a collaborative album between Russian electronic artists Milky Toad and Chikiss. It's a wonderful lo-fi electronic folk masterpiece of an album full of whispered crystalline tundra ambiance. Just look at the album cover it says it all. With its orgasmic retro synths and upbeat VHS mood this is like Chillwave if it was about winter wonderlands rather than summer beach ones. Beautiful. Go download the album for only $1 from the Dopefish Family Bandcamp, it's well worth it because it is just so beautiful and different!

Stoned Boys are my favourite Russian band, here is a new track free to download from their Soundcloud page, a remix of Silent Island by Russian artist Make. Stoned Boys are awesome dance producers along the lines of Pictureplane or Teengirl Fantasy post-rave for the niche clubbing era.
