Necro Deathmort

Just discovered Necro Deathmort. Relentless Industrial progressive black metal. Heavy as fuck and twice as atmospheric, the soundtrack to the heat death of the universe played across cold boiling seas of liquid methane on orphan moons spiralling forever into darkness. I want to see these dudes live, I imagine it slays like a pro.

PURGE

The collective minds of three of Berlins' finest join forces for a new night of power and bass, heat and audio rage. PURGE was conceived when Daniel Dodecahedron (GucciGoth), xorzyzt (BL4CK M4G1CK) and Tom Ass (The Darkness) worked together during the Drop Dead Festival in September of 2011.

Combining the best of early industrial dance, post-hardcore influenced dubstep, black metal rave, and witched-out hip-hop, PURGE seeks to encourage spasms, violent dancing and the end of party apathy; when you enter our space, you are part of the cabal. Existence is Void: there is only the gift of fury.

PURGE drops down on Thursday November 10th at Chez Jacki with two singular prophets of doom: HTRK and BRUISES.

Newclear Waves.

Newclear Waves are from Rome, they play great depressing, minimal, cold-wave synth stuff that sounds pretty retro but also kinda up to date in some ways. Synths like buzzing wasps and popping drum machines its dark but not a traumer to listen to, they have song titles like Blood Moon and The Shore Of Time, its a bit "Ambient Black Metal fans do Cold Wave" though dont get too over excited by that description. They have various split 7" and split tape releases with Opus Finis out via Mannequin. And have also collaborated on a track with Mushy who is more Witch House than anything else!

Yoga, Megafauna LP and Cosmotropia de Xam video!

Yoga describe themselves as psychedelic black metal and have a sound which is very much a world of noise-scapes and film scores for imagined trippy yet classy horror.

They have incredibly listenable tracks with titles such as; "Treeman""The Necromancers Goblin Ha" and"Flying Witch" which should give you an idea of the mood of this band. Forests, mountains and David Lynch!

Megafauna, their LP, is available via Holy Mountain records (home to OM, Wooden Shjips and Country Teasers amongst a ton of others.)

Regular readers of my blog or fellow Witch House fans will notice that the video above for the Yoga song "Reptoids" is by Cosmotropia de Xam, the visualiser in chief for Witch House, so as you might tell Yoga also can slot into that genre too!

Cosmotropia de Xam whoever they are is an amazing editor and (I dont want to use the awful word VJ so..) visual artist and filmaker. You can check out the rest of their work including lots and lots of live footage of bands on their Blog or directly at their YouTube Channel!

Canadian Black Noise

Menace Ruine are a two piece woman/man black metal band from Montreal that run more into the electronic ambient noise realm more than the world of studded leather armlets and white face paint.

Female vocals in a chanting medieval monastry vibe over psychadelic drone and atmospheric wall off fuzz high end. Programmed drums that are both Velvet Underground and WITTR at double speed and THE longest metal hair ever!

Its great to find a BM band that are half female, its less boys toys and machismo.
But no less grim dark and death awaiting!

"The Die Is Cast" and "Cult of Ruins" albums were both out lsat year on Alien8 Recordings.
