Curxes should team up with This Mono Galaxy

80's synth pop inspired Brighton band Curxes channel the ghosts of discothèques past, funnelling moods and poses, bass vocals and cacophonic synth rhythms, a voice par none for this kind of thing and glistening key riffs, growling and rolling in the sonic mire, cutting tongues on broken disco balls, sinning in the dark, spinning atop windswept moors, arms out head back welcoming the diamond rains.
Their stuff is good but I cant help thing of another 80s synth inspired genius of a Brighton band, This Mono Galaxy. And I have to say This Mono Galaxy's tune's are way catchier.. If I was Curxes I'd invest some dollar into some kind of songwriting thing with TMG, I think the combinations would be an awesome top of the chart kind of thing!

This Mono Galaxy continue on putting out great synth pop albums tinged with 1980s genius hooks and melancholic wonder, deep crooning vocals and better pop catchyness in just one song than most bands have in their entire catalogue. Here they are with their latest release The Envy Scratch a twelve track long dark synth pop wonder that explores a more electroclash modern R&B direction but all with their great synth sound and brilliant song writing that they always bring to every album they put out, by themselves for seemingly little recognition! Dj Set @The Prince Albert excitement!

I Djed at The Albert on Wednesday before and after the bands played (The Mekano Set, Bird Eats Baby, etc) This is the first gig I've seen where a band says on stage; "you can find us on.. if you Google our name!" So not 'you can find us on Myspace' like everyone used to say! This is the death of the Myspace shout out. Sites are better to use and so easy and Blogs are even easier and way more personel. Myspace is your bands trainer wheels and if you dont split up after 6 months then get a Blog and your own site!
