Dj Set @The Prince Albert excitement!

I Djed at The Albert on Wednesday before and after the bands played (The Mekano Set, Bird Eats Baby, etc) This is the first gig I've seen where a band says on stage; "you can find us on.. if you Google our name!" So not 'you can find us on Myspace' like everyone used to say! This is the death of the Myspace shout out. Sites are better to use and so easy and Blogs are even easier and way more personel. Myspace is your bands trainer wheels and if you dont split up after 6 months then get a Blog and your own site!

S.C.U.M

The "Society for Cutting Up Men" was a Feminist art movment/action group. This is not them. Though the band do quote them in their Myspace.
S.C.U.M are a brillaint goth noise band from London wearing its influences visably on its sleave. But doing it so well it hurts. Its all Throbbing Gristle, industrial noisescapes and Bauhaus, Joy Division epic dub reverb and darkness inducing Alien Sex Fiendness!

If The Horrors are moving in a blissed out goth noise direction then S.C.U.M are taking broken bottles and slashing their wrists in order to drink the Morphine rich blood!
They have a debut single "Visions Arrive" which is sold out and are on tour, playing Brighton on 6th May at New Hero and again during the Great Escape festival! Do not miss them!

Horrors come back.. much cheering!

Midnight on the 17th March, some eager beaver on Twitter alerts me and totally by surprise I find myself viewing the new Horrors stuff. Their entire site is given over to the video for their new single "Sea Within A Sea" (8 mins long!) AND there's a free mp3 of the song!
