In keeping with the last post but with a more sinful blues and darkness tip is Cloud Seeding. Cloud Seeding is a music singles project by Brooklyn guitarist Kevin Serra. The first single features singer Marissa Nadler. It's dark and slow and a pine forest on fire at midnight type thing, stoner folk, red wine and daggers, satin sheets hung out to dry, distant mountain paths, kissing at dawn, waking up and eating meat, looking at the stars and swearing oaths to eternity, grinding your fingers on well worn guitar strings, blood and rose petals, the 60's from the bottle of a glass, romance and shotguns, the devil at your door, black bubbles in the air, crows on the washing line, raining sunday whispers and baby bats in a cardboard box. You know the sort of thing. Well have a listen.
BRIGHT FUTURE is a Brooklyn based electronic artist making some great remixes and generally slaying it all over! Woozy, smooth, glo-fi, electro, slow beat, Witchian darkwave pop that could almost go dubstepy at times. Go buy his album Blue//Black for only $4 here.

Religious to Damn "Drifter" Music Video from Jason Akira Somma on Vimeo.
Interesting band called Religious To Damn that come from Brooklyn. Dark bluesy female fronted indie rock with experimental leanings. The sort of thing where the word sultry is used in reviews! I wouldn't have blogged about them normally but this is a really cool video!
Here also is is the single which is free to download.
A boy girl duo from Brooklyn FOOD S†ΔMPS peg themselves as recession pop, and though it is all a little hip in approach its very much some great music, dark and spacey and a little Witchian but mainly a bit synthy and post electro clash pop dragged through the back rooms of music stores and garage band practice spaces. Because of where they're from comparisons to Sleigh Bells will come and do but they are much much less agro and more like late era Kills with more pop sensibility. Good stuff, lo-fi drum machine modern punks.
This band are from Brooklyn and were covered last week by all the blogs who must not have anything else to do but sit waiting for the next email. I couldn't get a post out that quick but here it finally is.
