I've no idea who "nknwn" is, they only have a soundcloud and it has no images or info on it at all, but its a great sound. One part alt RnB in a Weeknd style to one part ambient post trance vibes, all mixed in with slow minimal rave feelings and post The xx stylings. This is so good and as soon as whoever it is opens up the hidden doors of anonymity and we get to be able to buy or download these tracks the better. 

Interesting then with The xx vibes that nknwn's latest upload is a remix of The xx's Angels.And it's free to download unlike all the other tracks!

Over The Moon

Want some slow melodic quiet post punk echo and beauty with tinges of The XX? Then here is Over The Moon. Hailing from High Wycombe this duo create some really British really hauntingly beautiful music for wondering with the headphones through misty autumn mornings lost deep in numb melancholia. Blam awesome in your face! 


People are drawing comparisons to The XX, These New Puritans - all that kind of sound. But they most remind me of a quite different band called Atlantacists who were doing stuff more guitar, bass and drum machine led in 2008 who never got off the ground but were awesome too. Go to Over The Moon's Soundcloud to download the track Natural Death.

Prinzhorn Dance School - new release!

In a world of The XX winning the Mercury Prize, it seems only right that the kings of understated minimalism should now return, Prinzhorn Dance School have justy released their first piece of music in 3 years, "Seed, Crop, Harvest" and it's true to form PDS with stripped out production, brooding guitar and discordant beat.

It has all the voids and crawl spaces of a band like The XX but with the balls and heart of someone like Scout Niblet.

Its available to downlaod from their site for free and is going to be released on 7" on october 11th on DFA. Check it out below.

Glasser, UK tour dates!!

So.. Glasser who I blogged about on 2nd February is releasing Tremel as a 12" on Young Turks. Its out on the 29th March in the UK. With a bunch of remixes. But proceeding that she's touring here! First there's a gig with Is Tropical on the 4th March, then five dates supporting The XX!!

There is/was so little info about this artist that I never thought she would be hitting up this country!
